Monday April 4, 2011 .- The Collective SOUTH expresses its deep sorrow for the cowardly murder of a young fighter Andrew Taipei, 22, who was shot during the just protests by residents of the Tambo Valley against the mining project installation Aunt Mary, driven by the harmful Southern Peru Copper Corporation. Despite the immense do our family and friends of this young martyr who gave his life to fighting solidarity of its people to defend the agriculture, water and life.
condemn once again the obsession repressive government of Alan Garcia, that sooner or later must answer for their numerous crimes. We demand the immediate expulsion of the Southern Valley Tambo and cancellation of projects mining devastation that threaten agriculture and the use of the thousands of people who have always worked the land.
That the heroic sacrifice of Andrés Taipei, for whom today we bow our flags respectfully, not in vain. The pain and anger that causes us the terrible murder, serve as encouragement to defeat once and for all, with reason and the strength of the people, the threat of Southern and the APRA government.
